Flower Care

**HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR FLOWERS**

We want you to enjoy your beautiful flowers for as long as possible. Here are a few simple tips to help.

**LIGHT / TEMPERATURE**

Place your bouquet or arrangement in a cool spot, away from drafts.

Avoid direct sunlight, as it causes flowers to wilt faster and makes the water in the vase cloudy.

Also, try to keep them out of direct airflow from air conditioning. Strong winds or drafts can damage the flowers, causing them to dry out.

**WATER**

Change the water in the vase every day or every other day. If you have flower food, add it to the fresh water. Make sure all the stems are submerged.

It’s also a good idea to clean the vase regularly. If the flower stems feel slimy, rinse them off.

For flowers with softer stems, using less water in the vase can prevent them from getting damaged.

**PRUNING**

Remove any dead or wilting leaves and stems as soon as you notice them.

If the leaves are submerged in the water, it’s best to remove them to prevent bacteria from growing.

Before putting the flowers back into fresh water, trim the stems at a diagonal (cutting them underwater is even better). This allows the flowers to take in more water and stay fresh longer.

Use sharp scissors or floral scissors to avoid crushing the stems.

**REARRANGING**

Different types of flowers bloom for different lengths of time.

Sadly, once a flower wilts, it’s time to remove it. But the ones that are still blooming can be rearranged! Trim the stems and let them soak up fresh water again.

You can get creative and place the remaining flowers in smaller vases or bottles around your home. It’s a fun way to keep enjoying them.
